Testimonials for i candy
At i candy we love to hear about how we have inspired you. Please send us your stories so we can Spread the Love!
The greatest risk in life is to risk nothing...
Another one of our favorite stories at i candy is about a little card with a big message. Just before Christmas 2010, Lisa and her sister went to The Attic bar, Mission Bay in Auckland. There in the middle of the bar was the i candy ‘RISK’ card, in pride of place and nicely framed. On further investigation we found out that this card had meant a lot to the owner, and he shared his story with us.
After procrastinating for two months about whether to take the massive step of risking everything he had including his house, pension and life savings to finance his dream of building his own bar, his girlfriend gave him the RISK greeting card. The card was not only about their relationship but also about taking the risk to build the bar which she had watched him plan and heard his dreams about for over 2 years.
He read the card, read it a second time, and literally picked up the phone straight away to the landlord of the premises and the brewery, and agreed on starting the project... which is now the established and successful Mission Bay bar and restaurant, The Attic (www.theatticbar.co.nz).
Tricky says the card was the catalyst to making the decision and taking the biggest risk of his life, a risk which is now proving to have been exactly the right thing to have done.
If you need any confirmation of this fabulous story, just go up to the Attic and ask for Tricky, he’ll happily tell you in person!
Born to fly...

Another favorite inspirational story involves one of Lisa's favourite cards, 'Born to fly' which shows her little nephew Thomas looking out to sea lost in his own thoughts, wings superimposed on his little body and 'how can I keep my feet on the ground, when I was born to fly' written underneath. It captures perfectly the moment of a little boy, with his whole life ahead of him where the sky is the limit!
Warren Dwight, a pilot for Air New Zealand came across this card in Sabato in Auckland, and it resonated with him. All Warren had ever wanted to do was fly and his childhood dream had come true. He loved is job as a pilot and was living the dream! He had a significant birthday coming up and asked us to create a personalised version for him, along with RSVP cards.
“Not a policeman, fireman or a train driver, but becoming a pilot was my childhood dream. Four years ago a very special event loomed and the search was on for a suitable invitation card. Seeing an i candy card with a little boy with wings on his back and the caption 'How can I keep my feet on the ground when I was born to fly?' expressed everything I was looking for.
i candy willingly agreed to personalise this card as an invitation card for me. How well the card was received by my guests, with such wonderful comments. A framed copy sits on my desk, forever a momento of a dream fulfilled. Thank you i candy."

Your cards have, and continue to be, greatly loved and appreciated by my customers. Stumbling upon you at the trade fair was a real treat. I’ve often said to customers that apart from the fact the cards are wonderful, the person who makes them happen is lovely person and that just makes the cards even more wonderful :) They love to hear that, because they know I mean it.
Thanks so much for your great product, your fabulous attitude and customer service. It’s been much appreciated. You deserve every success with all you do.

Thank you Lisa for the pack of inspirational cards. When you left I had to do something I had been stressing over for a week. When the last client left I opened up the cards and the card I randomly picked from the bunch said:
because those who mind don’t matter
and those who matter don’t mind!
They will sit on my desk and I will randomly pick one each day or so. So thank you!
